The Los Angeles Community College School District (LACCD) is looking to be very progressive with ‘green’ initiatives for the extensive upgrades and construction that is happening at all nine campuses. This first phase of solar poles installed in February on the West LA campus is expected to act as a working example of the cost effective and environmentally friendly solutions that will be specified into many other LACCD projects. SSI and Inovus Solar put in a lot of hard work to accomplish the realization of this first install and look forward to many more.

We were excited about helping put on the New Energy conference at UCLA this last May. It was a gratifying event to be a part of and our own Chris Winn got a Congressional Accommodation from Congressman John Campbell for his work with the conference and alternative energy.

*November 2008
We saw an opportunity a while back to be a part of a very unique product in the Inovus Solar light poles. In November it became official that we would represent the Inovus solar products out in the marketplace. We believed that the Inovus product differentiated itself positively from other solar products out there in many ways including aesthetics, functionality, and especially with its technology. Being a part of a something that will ultimately help our environment the more it gets out there and applied, brings an extra sense of motivation that we will gladly utilize.

*July 2009
We worked vigorously with Inovus Solar to prove the readiness of the Smartpole* solar lighting systems in the first few months of our partnering. During this time, a number of test sites and small orders were being filled, including the LA Bureau of Street Lighting installing our solar pole for evaluation. The hard work paid off as we saw the first high volume orders coming through and delivered those shipments this July. While these systems continue to prove their value as energy saving solutions, it is rewarding for us to see the positive environmental impact that comes with its success.
